Dietitian

Jackie Hatchew, MS, RD is a Registered Dietitian who helps individuals use nutrition to support movement, recovery, performance, and long-term health.

Jackie takes a whole-person, individualized approach, recognizing that nutrition is often the missing foundation between rehab and performance. She works closely with clients to ensure their nutrition supports—not limits—their ability to train, recover, and live actively.

She works with individuals navigating injury recovery and recurrent injuries, as well as body composition goals, diabetes and blood sugar regulation, high blood pressure, and overall health optimization.

Jackie believes nutrition should be practical, flexible, and sustainable—something that fits into real life rather than feeling restrictive or overwhelming. She follows an “all foods fit” philosophy and helps clients build habits that support their goals while still allowing room for the foods they enjoy.

A key focus of Jackie’s work is fueling adequacy. Many people unintentionally underfuel in an effort to “eat clean” or lose weight, leading to low energy availability.

As Jackie puts it, “If you’re not eating enough, we can’t make up for it with food quality.”

Prolonged injury recovery, stalled progress, hormonal or metabolic disruptions, and repeated setbacks are often the result of underfueling driven by good intentions. By addressing fueling first, Jackie helps clients restore energy and make consistent progress over time.

Jackie specializes in sports nutrition and brings experience working with collegiate athletes across both Olympic and football programs. As one of the only sports dietitians with significant experience in Tucson, she blends performance-based nutrition with long-term health.

Her approach is collaborative and judgment-free, emphasizing education, empowerment, and realistic strategies that integrate seamlessly into daily routines.

Jackie earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Central Michigan University and her Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Northern Illinois University, along with graduate certificates in Sports Nutrition and Public Health.
