Daney Carvalho

Social Media and Marketing Assistant

Daney is the Social Media & Marketing Assistant at Smith Performance Center.

He believes SPC’s message must start with honesty, especially in healthcare and fitness, where unrealistic promises are common. As he puts it, effective communication begins with clearly stating “what we can offer and what we can’t offer,” so people understand the process they are committing to and can set realistic, achievable goals.

A second priority for Daney is clearly explaining why the SPC approach is different. He believes people should understand not just that the approach works, but why.

“The SPC process is unique,” and that uniqueness should be communicated in clear, accessible language, not buried in jargon or exaggerated claims.

Daney’s background is in film, video production, and digital media, where he approaches his work as a form of intentional craft. He describes what he does as “commercial art,” where the creative process is real, but the goal is communication, clarity, and execution. “The process, the structure, the foundation, the knowledge… they’re basically the same,” whether he is working on independent creative projects or producing content for SPC.

With over a decade of experience in video production, editing, post-production coordination, and content strategy, Daney brings both creative and operational discipline to his role. He believes that meaningful work depends on systems that allow ideas to be finished and delivered, not endlessly refined. “Perfect is impossible,” he explains, “but it’s still a good North Star,” as long as the work reaches a standard that serves the audience and moves the project forward.

What drew Daney to Smith Performance Center is the alignment between clinical rigor and ethical communication. He values that SPC is grounded in science, transparent about limitations, and focused on helping people improve their health in realistic, sustainable ways. His role is to help translate that philosophy into consistent, trustworthy messaging that reflects the seriousness of the work without losing its human side or entertainment value.

His work can be seen in the Past Your Prime Podcast, which he has taken over production and editing along with the upcoming deep dive series to be released later this year.
