Edy Yee

Physical Therapist

For Dr. Edy Yee, PT, DPT, knowledge is power.

The more a patient knows about what they’re doing and why, the easier it is for them to commit to therapy. When you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, you can make your own modifications and correct course when something goes wrong.

This belief in patient empowerment through education shapes Dr. Yee’s entire practice. She strives to ensure her patients are well-informed, confident, and active participants in their care.

With over 20 years of experience treating complex cases of spinal pain, Dr. Yee has developed a unique perspective on diagnosis and management. She specializes in low back, thoracic, and cervical pathology, along with shoulder conditions and post-surgical care. Her expertise enables her to navigate the complexities of acute, chronic, and recurrent pain, delivering tailored treatment plans that address the root causes.

Dr. Edith Yee, PT, DPT, COMT, earned her clinical doctorate from Duke University. Her advanced training with the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine and certifications in manual therapy and dry needling further refine her ability to treat musculoskeletal conditions with precision and care.

Dr. Yee’s focus on uncovering the contributing factors behind a patient’s pain has shaped the Smith Performance Center methodology, targeting the functional drivers of structural pain. By addressing the root cause, her approach leads to more permanent progress and long-term relief.

Rehab, she believes, is a collaboration between provider and patient: “We are going to help you figure out what’s going on and then come up with ways to get you better. I want to help you keep yourself better.

Dr. Yee’s passion for helping people live their best lives has always driven her career in physical therapy. She has personally experienced the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of staying active, and her career allows her to share those advantages with her patients. By educating and empowering them, Dr. Yee helps her patients not only recover from injury but also equips them with the tools they need for lifelong health, from injury recovery to peak performance.
