Hannah Farley

Strength Coach

For Coach Hannah Farley, training is about creating programs that last.

“The most important thing for me is coming up with a plan that people are going to stick to…they’re motivated to keep doing, excited to keep doing, where they feel success as they go and they keep progressing.”

That commitment to sustainability reflects Hannah’s background as both an athlete and a teacher. A Division I collegiate track and field competitor, she went on to become a personal trainer, PE and health teacher, and sprint coach before joining Smith Performance Center. She knows about hard work, along with the frustration of getting hurt and not having a clear plan to get back to an active lifestyle after struggling with several injuries during her time as an athlete.

That experience shaped how she now approaches coaching—emphasizing not just progress, but understanding.

“I don’t want people to…need me forever… I want them to understand, okay, what muscles am I working? How do I put together an exercise program? And…really understand what they’re doing. I think that makes it more important to them, and it’s more motivating…if they understand the why behind what we’re doing.”

As a self-described “recovering perfectionist,” Hannah is also intentional about helping clients view setbacks differently.

“Okay, we failed, but what did we learn from this? And what can we change in the future to avoid that? Just helping them see it as a way to learn and get better instead of failure.”

At SPC, she is known for her ability to engage clients, create a supportive environment, and bring her lifelong passion for movement into every session.

Hannah earned her B.A. in Human Biology with a concentration in Human Performance and Nutrition from Stanford University. She is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and a USATF Level 1 Track and Field Coach.
